Dr. Nazem Behnam
Periodontist, Dental Surgeon
I finished my studies at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Debrecen in 2010 and obtained my dental degree. After that, I worked for a year in private clinics (accredited oral surgery clinic) and from 2011 to 2016 I worked as a resident doctor, central I also worked as an intern and specialist candidate instructor in both practical and theoretical parts. I then took a specialist exam in periodontology, and during this period I worked in various private practices, state districts and hospitals, in addition to undertaking dental and oral surgery on-call services in various counties (Hajdú-Bihar-, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg-, Békéscsaba-, Szolnok-, Bács-Kiskun- in counties). From 2016 I also took up work in Pest County, mainly from 2018 I worked in Budapest in various private practices.
My main profile includes periodontology and oral medicine (related to diabetes, autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular diseases, pharmacotherapies, genetic diseases, etc.), implantology and oral surgery, in addition to the fact that I have always performed general dentistry (conservative and prosthetic treatments) in addition, I also deal with diseases of the oral mucosa. In 2016, I also obtained a postgraduate diploma in implantology at an advanced level. I participated in several foreign conferences, further training and workshops under the mentorship of, for example, Prof. Anton Sculean, Prof. Adi Korean, Prof. Ziv Mazor, Prof. Horia Barbu, in order to constantly update my knowledge. In 2018, I obtained certification in aesthetic facial treatments (botox, filler, skin-therapy) at the American Academy of Esthetic Medicine.
I like periodontology because more than 70% of the Hungarian population suffers from periodontal disease (with or without systemic diseases or its therapy), without knowing about it, so I can help them detect and treat the disease in time; and I find oral surgery and implantology a challenge, that’s what I like about them. For me, the most important thing is that the patient’s treatment is pain-free and with a smile, and that he leaves healthier after the treatment I have performed. There are many diseases that can cause periodontal disease, and many systemic diseases arise from periodontal disease, for this reason I consider part of periodontology to be medicine (medical science), not as if I only deal with the oral cavity, but with the whole body.
I am a member of, among others, the Hungarian Periodontological Society, European Federation of Periodontology, Scandinavian Society of Periodontology, European Association of Oral Medicine Diplomates, American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, Irish Dental council, Norwegian Dental Society, and Swedish Orthopedic Society, etc.
